Dr. Avij Dhuppe, Secretary of Help Medical Foundation and Research Center (HMFARC), was born in 1991 in Udgir, a small village on the outskirts of Latur. Growing up in a modest rural community and studying in a local Marathi-medium school, he witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by families struggling to access quality medical treatment.
As a young boy, Dr. Dhuppe encountered a patient, Mr. Suraj Sagar, who was suffering from blood cancer. Moved by his condition, he approached the family with a desire to help. His mother explained the family's financial hardship and the overwhelming cost of cancer treatment. This experience left a lasting impression on him and inspired a lifelong commitment to helping people who could not afford essential cancer care.
Years later, Dr. Dhuppe turned that childhood aspiration into a mission. On 1 December 2019, he began a new chapter in his journey with the establishment of Help Medical Foundation and Research Center in Latur, Maharashtra. The organization was founded with a commitment to cancer control, accessible healthcare, patient support, and community service.
Since its establishment, HMFARC has directly supported more than 12,293 beneficiaries who may otherwise have struggled to afford necessary medical treatment. Today, the organization continues to implement healthcare programs across Maharashtra, working to make essential medical services more accessible and affordable for people and families in need.
